Chief Minister Vijay Rupani e-dedicated online e-Sanjeevani OPDs scheme across Gujarat through videoconferencing in presence of Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel here today to provide medical facility online to patients for common diseases at their homes with a view to reducing the load on hospitals and OPDs
Speaking on the occasion, he said the novel scheme, launched by the Central Government, would prove maximum beneficial particularly during the social distancing being maintained now to treat highly contagious novel coronavirus Covid-19 patients.
Mr. Rupani described this extension of free treatment and medicines, being supplied to Covid-19 patients at their homes as well as at government hospitals and health centres, as the right job at the right time. It vindicates our efforts to covert crisis into opportunity. He said that mobiles equipped with two-way video calls App facility for direct communication between the doctor and patients will prove a boon.
He placed on record his praise for the state’s health personnel and administration for being on their toes, working relentlessly, to fight Covid-19 since the beginning of 2020.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel said this App could treat patients in remote villages, not only saving them from going all the way to CHC/PHC but also get necessary consultation from medical experts and specialists.
He said it is comparable with other online services available in urban areas. It is one step ahead of tele-medicine facility for diagnosis on phone through latest technology. Plan is to extend its scope to medical colleges and young doctors.
Those present during the e-launch included Principal Secretary for Health at Gandhinagar and District Collectors, DDOs and other officers at district places.
