It will be able to pass through the toll plaza in the freeway.

What is Fastag and how does it work?
It is a radio frequency identification tag that is mounted on the vehicle's windshield so that the sensor can read a fastag when it is passing through the toll plaza. The device installed there will automatically charge toll tax. This will save the driver time. According to National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) data, toll tax is currently levied by Fastag at 537 toll plazas in the country.

For how many years will Fastag be valid
Fastag validity is up to 5 years after purchase. You will have to recharge it by this time. Fastag can also be recharged through NetBaking, Credit / Debit Card, UPI and other ways.

What if Fastag is not installed?
According to Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, if there is no fastag, it will have to pay double toll. However for those vehicles that are not fastagged, there will be a separate lane at the toll plaza.

What happens when a Fastag scan is performed on a toll plaza?
As a rule, a toll-on scanner will be malfunctioning and the driver will not be responsible if it is unable to scan your fastag. In this case the driver will not have to pay any money and will be able to pass through the toll free. A toll board will also be installed for this so that awareness can be spread among the people.

How to link Fastag to a bank account, how to recharge?
When purchasing Fastag it can be linked to a back account using the MyFastTag app. The user has to enter the Vehicle Registration Number, then the Fastag will be activated. With UPI payment on the app, the user will be able to recharge his fastag.

It can also be purchased from Paytm. Apply for new fastag by uploading vehicle registration number and Vehicle Registration Certificate on Paytm.
