The state government has decided to open schools in Gujarat after Diwali. According to sources, the state government is preparing to start schools from November 23. For this, parents will be given the option of sending their child to school or teaching online. However, strict social adherence will have to be followed after the schools open. Schools will only run with 50 percent attendance. I.e. students will be called in turn. Recently a meeting was held between the top officials of the state education department and the officials of the health department on the matter of starting schools. Sources said that the education department is likely to start classes from standard 6 to 12 in the first phase.

Std. 12 classes, polytechnic institutes and colleges in the state can be started from Thursday 15th July 2021 with the consent of parents with 50% capacity. Attendance of students in such institutions is optional. Thus offline study of more than 5 lakh students of standard 12 will start.

In this meeting of the core committee, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Pankaj Kumar, Frontline Secretary of Education S. J. Haider, Chief Minister's Secretary Ashwini Kumar and Education Secretary Vinod Rao were present.

Sanitation facility has to be provided in every campus before starting school-colleges.
Students should be provided with a thermalgun for checking, sanitizer and soap for hand washing.
Social distance should be maintained in the classrooms and in the school-college complex. Not only that, the mask must be used.
It is also important to ensure that medical services are available within walking distance of the school-college.
Following the SOP of the Government of India, the online education system provided by the schools and colleges in the state will remain the same.
The SOP will be applicable to all government, grant-in-aid and self-finance schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, social justice and empowerment department as well as Adi Jati Vikas department schools of all the boards in the state.
Student attendance at school is not mandatory.
Institutions must also obtain the written consent of the student's parents to come to school.
Students will also be asked to bring their own masks, water bottles, books, snacks, etc. from home and not to interact with other students.

It is also suggested that students come to school on the scheduled days of the week and do homework assignments on the remaining days.
It is also advised not to play sports or any other group activity on the field of mass prayer.
Parents will be encouraged to use their personal transportation to get the child to and from school.
Students who use public transport will also be given appropriate precautionary guidance from the school.
