The Prime Minister will participate in the National Panchayati Raj Day on April 24, 2020 through video conferencing with Gram Panchayats across the country.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will address various Gram Panchayats across the country on Friday 24th April 2020. This day is celebrated every year as National Panchayati Raj Day.

The Prime Minister will interact with various participants through video conferencing as the social distance is being observed through lockdown across the country due to the current Covid-19 epidemic.

Shri Narendra Modi will also launch e-Gramswaraj portal and mobile application on this occasion.

This integrated portal is a new initiative of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj which will provide a single interface to Gram Panchayats to prepare and implement their Gram Panchayat Vikas Yojana (GPDP).

The Prime Minister will also launch an ownership scheme on the occasion. The scheme provides a unified property recognition solution in rural India; Demarcation of inherited land in rural areas will be done by advanced survey equipment - Tron's technology will be used in collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, State Panchayati Raj Departments, State Revenue Department and Survey of India.

Every year, on this occasion, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj commends the best performing Panchayats / States / UTs for improving their delivery of services and public goods by rewarding them under Panchayat Incentives. This year three such awards namely Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Award (NDRGGSP), Bal-Mitra Gram Panchayat Award (CFGPA) and Gram Panchayat Vikas Yojana (GPDP) awards have been decided which will be shared to the concerned State / UTs.
