HIGHLIGHTS
The Realme X50 Pro 5G launch event starts at 2.30 pm IST on Monday, February 24. The same will begin in Madrid. Since it will be online-only event, the launch stream will be available for people who are interested. You can tune to the YouTube video embedded below as and when the event starts.
The Realme X50 Pro 5G is touted to be the first 5G smartphone in India. While this sounds convincingly interesting, you should note that India has not rolled out 5G connectivity yet. The fact that there is no 5G infrastructure readily available in the country is, however, unlikely to impact Realme's marketing proposition for the X50 Pro 5G. Realme also beat Vivo's IQOO by announcing the event a day earlier, only showing the level of importance the word 5G holds for the company. It wants to be the first brand and it indeed will be.
The Realme X50 Pro 5G will be a flagship smartphone, going by the umpteen teasers that have confirmed high-end internals. This also means that the pricing is going to be higher than Realme's existing smartphone line.
According to a PTI report, citing a Realme official, the X50 Pro 5G will be priced around Rs 50,000 in India. Considering the specifications the X50 Pro 5G is confirmed to pack, the price seems lucrative - unless IQOO, which is also likely to offer similar specifications on its 5G phone, undercuts Realme.
Talking about the specifications, the Realme X50 Pro 5G is confirmed to rock a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor under the hood. It will come with a 90Hz display sporting a dual punch-hole design. There will be four rear cameras on the device, comprising a 64-megapixel sensor along with a sensor that offers 20x zoom. For selfies, there will two cameras inside the punch-hole, one of which will be a 32-megapixel sensor.
Realme X50 Pro 5G will support dual-mode 5G (NSA and SA) out of the box, and while it will mean less to the fraction of Indian consumers, the other fraction could use it when they travel to the parts of the world already facilitated by 5G networks. Realme is also touting the 65W SuperDart Charge fact charging technology on the smartphone - again, a first in India.
